On Impact Stack, there are Pages and Actions.
Pages are webpages which hold your content.
<aside> 📖
You can put an Action onto a Page, and onto many Pages. In other words, an Action is one of the pieces of content that can go on a Page.
An Action is made up of: 1) a Form, 2) a Thank you email, and 3) Free Tags that are applied to any supporter who completes that Action.
The same Action can be reused on multiple different Pages.
This makes it easy to have a sign-up form for your newsletter on lots of different pages with different content. You can also easily A/B test elements of your page content while keeping the same form and storing the data from that form all together.
Note: This is different to previous versions of Impact Stack, where every page had a form and every form was on only one page.

Then select the Action you want to use. You’re done.

Then click the ‘Add action’ button at the top of that page.

Give your new Action a title

Select one of your Action Types.
<aside>
Action Types are starting templates for Actions. Use Action Types to set up sensible defaults for the kinds of Actions that you make most frequently. In most cases you will want at least a petition Action Type, but you may also want to add Actions Types for other use-cases that you have for Impact Stack.

Then click on the Create button at the bottom of the page.

You can click the ‘Save action’ button on the bottom at any time to save the action.

Next we’ll work on your Form fields.
On the Form step of Actions, you can set up the Form Fields.

You can drag in more fields from the left sidebar where it says Salutation, Title, Opt-in etc.
You can expand the subsections of the sidebar to see more Form Fields.
See more information about all the Form Fields.

You can edit the label above the field.
In the Field validations section, you can decide if the field should be required or not and edit the error message that will show.
In the Advanced configuration section, you can edit the Field name and Delete the field.

5. Some more complex Fields like Email Opt-in have lots of options where you can:
- Add text above and below the field
- Decide what text should show if your supporter clicks No to receiving your emails
- Decide whether to show your opt-in question should be a radio button or a checkbox
- Specify the newsletter, eg Mailchimp audience that people who take your Action should be added to

Once you’re happy with your form fields, move on to the Emails section with the Emails tab at the top
